What attendees said:

"Keynote speakers were really good. Lunch as always was lovely and the general turnout and vibe was spot on in terms of content and variety."

"Learned a lot from this conference, as before and came away inspired. Thanks to all the organisers, speakers and those who helped with catering."

"Good practical breakout sessions with very useful case studies and applications rather than just theory, which is extremely valuable. Good food too, surely it can't be Chartwells?"

Welcome from Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Blackman

The conference this year considered ‘uncertainty’ in Higher Education, its implications for learning and teaching and the tools we as educators use to navigate this landscape.  Underpinning the conference was an appreciation of the rapidly changing HE policy context and its impact on our teaching practices.

Practices that aim to take back control in this challenging environment were explored – putting the focus on the growing requirement to capture metrics to drive evidence-backed interventions; the positioning of employability as a measure of learning gain; the opportunities and challenges of technology for teaching and learning; the benefits of diversity and the maintenance of the public responsibilities of universities.
